Still can't believe how small the world has become. Only last week I was talking to Jeru the Damaja, and now I'm leaving comments on _THE_ Kev Brown Blog. Back in the day, I had to tune in to a Dutch radioshow which I barely managed to receive - I live in a neigbouring country - taping it on cassette and I'd listen to it for the rest of the week until next week's episode. You'd hear them talking to your hero over the phone... Nowadays kids all over the world can get in touch themselves easily thanks to blogs like yours.

I really love your "I Do What I Do" album. And yes, I have bought the album on CD as I want to support your music. I mean, in the mid 90s, rappers like Jeru and O.C. (Word Life album) were my heroes as I couldn't relate to the gangster related lyrics and they balanced it out for me.

I have the same feeling when I listen to your work: you along with MF Doom, Madlib, and the late J-Dilla keep my interest in Hip-Hop music alive. Keep on doing what you do best, Mr. Brown and I will keep on plugging your awesome album.

Peace

This joint was hot. As a producer it was good to hear another producer demonstrating creative and "low budget" ways of making instrumentation out of ordinary sounds. Your production style is simple but effective. Your drum library is basic, but you've got ill guitar samples. Your ear for basslines is definitely crazy. I know you say you don't do much to your basslines, but you can hear conspicuous jazz nuances that make your basslines unique. I could definitely understand what you meant when talking about the DJ Scratch bass, I was trippin when you said that. I have a couple of beats where I tried to duplicate the hollow, big DJ Scratch bass sound. How do I get vol 1?

I hope that there's a Hennessey on this one as on Vol 1. Priceless indeed. It's too real!!!

When Kev hangs up his MPC for good some day after years of bangers, watch out for the stand up comedy career to jump off.

Dude, this Commentary CD is real nice. You're the only producer I know humble enough to do some stuff like this, mad love man.....

Thanks for doing another Beat Commentary cause I enjoyed the first one; I keep bugging on how chill but animated you sounded when you were playing your old joints. Just yesterday I was jamming to "I Do What I Do Instrumentals" on colored brown vinyl, your layering game is amazing.
