So yeah...this is what i was told about us gettin a gig at the jazz cafe in london. Oddisee, correct me if Im wrong on this 1..."The Low budget crew is too hip hop to perform at the jazz cafe". Wooooooooooooooooooooooooow. Im not even quite sure what that means. Should we take that as an insult or a compliment. Hmmm. To all the london fans that have been hittin us up to do the jazz cafe, thats the response we got after a good couple weeks... I guess LITTLE BROTHER, PETE ROCK AND CL SMOOTH etc... are just hip hop enuff for the j.c...kev brown, oddisee and kenn starr would push the hip hop meter a little too high for a venue like that. I really dont understand. If there are any other venues in london that would like to host us hit us up on the myspace joint. Other than that, its out of our hands london fans.

heres the jazz cafe jump offs schedule...seems they got dilated, slum, rakim and more shows coming up....this is definitely weird ish...too hip hop? i thought they were to jazzy for a second...thus the jazz cafe being the perfect spot for low budget to rock...ah man...dont know what to say...if so frrrup the cafe indeed...hopefully another venue capitalizes on the show...the uk got mad respect for the low budget crew...

I have been to Jazz Cafe many times over the years, seen everyone from Pharoahe Monch to Jungle Brothers there. They even hosted a dj battle (ITF? can't remember)one year. Damn, even the Roots literally had a residency there back in the days when they were living in London. If anytyhing it's more of a hip hop/eclectic venue than a jazz one.
That's a lame excuse. Maybe they let Jazzy Jeff dj there 'cos he got 'jazz' in his name, lol.
Heads up Low Budget, people in London would love to see you live, I'm sure you can find another venue.
