I play your music on our show but when it comes to commercial radio... it just is not about good music. In fact, it might not even be about good music. Who knows what it is about? You know this is true. If it was just about good music then you'd get played a little or even a lot more. We play good music on our show therefore we play your music. Commercial radio sucks right now. It seems as if they do not realize that people are paying to listen to other music options (ie XM and others) and they could change their programming but I don't think that has happened yet.

Go Figure!!!

BTW. Can I borrow $5.65 for a chicken box?

THANK YOU KEV BROWN for pointing this out! dont get me wrong, the golden age will always be fresh, but damn that doesnt mean djs have to be stuck in the 90s. for real man, how many times do we need to hear DWYCK or T.R.O.Y. when i step into a club???
how bout when DJ's say that hip hop is dead or wack. they are pulling their own b*tch card right there because isnt it their JOB to make sure hip hop DOESNT SUCK? man either fools are lazy to search for the good ish (YES good ish DOES exist in the year 2007), or are stuck in a time warp. either way they diss themselves...

REAL TALK ...even in the underground they are fronting HARD BODY! all they will play is like som premo type shit or whatever...music in general needs balance on radio but the underground radio cats need balance to...cause the "underground" is not only premo....kev brown and low budget does get fronted on in underground radio specifically in the u.s.a....i anaylze dj's playlists and i will see a kev brown or low budget joint on the list 1nce every 2 -3 months or so...all these cats play is premo type joints or borderline mainstream in terms of exposure - d block - etc... all good though dj's can front but thank god for the internet cause thoose music loving muafuckas will find the piff and pass it around...god bless internet..

The production commentary is mad nice. You basically answered everything I wanted to know about I wanted to know about your production style and the classic joints like "what ruling means"..just resample that sh*t for the grit. So nice.
More people should do this type of thing. Thanks man!

Hello All,
I'm one of those vatos that say the Boom Bap music is still on hit, but I just think it was a good foundation for the underground music thats played by newer artists. What strikes me is when folks say those that like music from the golden era are stuck in that time frame but those same people will most likely like hip hop as just a fad. music thats sampled by todays artists use old skool r&b and soul but that same music is considered classic. maybe artists are just upset that they cant be measured up to the old skool boom bap. who knows but I think the formulas the same!

this shit is hilarious.

I mean yeah, the beats are nuts and the background info is always interesting but really, you need a comedy show.

on some real shit...i enjoyed this more than listening to the actual music...i dont know listening to a master peice is priceless but gettin the scoop and behind the scenes on making the master peice is just too insane...kev brown you should put togother a making of series and even sell them likt mixtapes or commentary tapes...hell everybody and they momma make beats now..so why not target the beat makers...and get them to put there money where there mouth is...i would cop these in a second...this shit was priceless...fun to listen to...
